VLC Offline installer for Linux Ubuntu

I just hate to use the synaptic package installer embedded in ubuntu system. That because internet connection here in Malaysia just sucks. I prefer to have a local copy of installer resides in my external hard drive. It’ easy for me if I feel I’d like to format my computer now and then, I don’t have to download all my software and drivers all over again.

Just sharing some link here. Nifty player that could play almost all codecs that you could throw at it. :d

Vlite alternative for Windows 7

If you are planning to strip down your Windows 7 installation .iso files like you managed to do so for your Windows Vista using a Vlite you might want to find another alternative as Vlite doesn’t work well with Windows 7. I’ve just started to play around with Windows 7 installation files since last month and so far I’m quite happy with my workstation. But as a super user I would like to squeeze more juice from Windows 7 by integrating some of my drivers, slipstream windows update and remove unwanted programs or features directly to the original Windows 7 .iso

After I’ve done some searching this what I’ve found that could the job best. It’s called 7Customizer. It’s still in trial stages. I hope more people will try this product and gave feedback to the creator. As he need more people to help him on the development.

I’m gonna try it soon. Right now I’m stuck with my old computer.

Divorce ads

It’s quite rare to see this kind of advertisement here in Malaysia and I believe when a time this kind of ad start to pop out in Malaysia I’m sure it will cause a stir!

How to change the wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter Edition

Recently I’ve been toying around with a couple of windows 7 version. From Windows 7 starter to Windows 7 Ultimate. I’m not a fan of fancy desktop. So a aero glass and all those glossy mossy stuff don’t budge me a bit when choosing a type of Windows. So I chose to stick with Windows 7 Starter edition. This edition was meant for netbook users as it is a smaller version of Windows without all the heavy networking and virtual client mod that you don’t need if you are just a typical home user.

It’s little bit faster I might say with all the fancy graphic features like aero peek been disabled on this edition. After I’ve setup my machine for like an hour I just found out that Windows 7 starter edition can’t change its freaking wallpaper. Microsoft really made something out of this version. They had to remove this very basic customization features that has been in their operating system line for over 15 years! Yes its true I’m not a fan of fancy thing, but do you expect me to stare at Microsoft logo everytime I start my computer? Hell NO!

But not to worry. There’s a couple of workaround that you can find that’s gonna involve editing windows system files to make it available again. If you are planning to get involved with butt hurting technique you can go on or you just might want to use this nifty tool to change windows 7 starter edition desktop background without sweat.
