You can only subscribe it with a postpaid voice plan and data is limited to 500MB per month. If you exceed this data limit, you will experience slower speed for the month.

Hope more telcos will do the same in the future by offering similar packages. It’s mobile days now.

Facebooking on the go! :-p

Mobility Number Portability

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) — Pre-paid mobile phone users may change their mobile phone service providers, if they wish, and still keep their mobile phone numbers from tomorrow, Friday Aug 29.

For the time being, this service – Mobility Number Portability (MNP) – will be available in the Klang Valley on a limited basis, said Minister of Energy, Water and Communications, Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor in a statement.

He said in two weeks’ time, post-paid users will also be able to enjoy the service.

The nationwide launch of the service will be in October, he said.

He said MNP takes away the inconvenience associated with switching service providers and consumers will no longer need to wory about losing their contacts when changing service providers.

He said service providers are allowed to charge up to RM25 each time a subscriber changes his/her service provider.

This will give mobile users choice and freedom to choose their service providers without the inconvenience of having to change their numbers, he said.

Not so new Celcom promotion

Just notice this new promotion through lowyat forum. Click image below for a bigger version.

Summary: For RM159 monthly? Not worth it!

Let just say we deduct the RM68 as obligatory charge just to compare the value of the laptop and modem.

Rough calculation, RM159 – RM68 (for a D68/384kbps package)= RM91

RM91 x 24 month contract = RM2184 (This should be the total cost of laptop and modem). In my opinion with a dual core 1.6 Ghz specs (not dual core 2 duo okay) you can get the laptop below RM1500.

RM1500 + RM399 (usb modem) = RM1899!!

Maybe I should be appointed as their new marketing manager. LOL

Digi will roll out their 3G network soon, Celcom throttled

After gone through cumbersome dealing with local authority to acquire 3G spectrum with MCMC, Digi finally finished the transfer process of the 3G Spectrum from TIME dotcom Berhad (TdC) took place on the 7th of May 2008. This is good news for everyone. There will be a new player in town and it will compete with other mobile broadband provider. So Maxis, Celcom, Izzi and Umobile you better provide a good services up to par. So let’s hope for price war soon. :-p

But they are already a user in lowyat forum discovered Digi 3G connection in their dialer. Wow this is fast. :d

digi-3g-discovered.jpg

Currently Digi only providing an EDGE broadband and thats what makes me chose Celcom over Digi. But I’m not sure I’ll stay with Celcom any longer after having a very bad experienced with them this past 2 month. The thing is after Celcom Sales recently I’ve noticed that Celcom 3G network congested during peak hours. Line will be smooth 12pm onwards. We didn’t pay to use broadband for a certain time only for god sake. We will use it whenever we wanted too. In addition to that its really frustrating when the line would keep on disconnecting. GRRR. . .

Soon another problem arised. I’ve received a message from Celcom stated that I’ve sucking up their bandwidth way too much! Haha. Served them well. LOL
