Little scoop on local webhost – TNN

TNN, I’m not sure what’s that stand for. Maybe its the initial of the owner. Some said this hosting is a one man show business. I don’t care much about this. As long as the uptime are good and the price is reasonable I’m good to go to subscribe.

I’ve hosted couple of websites there since last year. Never had a problem with them before until last week. The sites has going through a rebranding process. They had change their company name. Still doesn’t have much thing to brag about as long as the performance remains the same.

But what makes me really angry is that this host has been down for straight 3 days! Few days after their rebranding. With no official updates from the owner. They just create a thread in lowyat forum and BAM!. Not heard from them again. As a hosting owner you shouldn’t do like that. At least let your customer know what is going on. Their reason about the downtime is one of their server in Ipoh datacenter has been highly DDOS. Man what kind of hosting can’t manage a DDOS attack. It shouldn’t down more than 1 day. At least you should have a backup plan. Can you imagine your client lost if the sites been going down only for few hours?

Later on they manage to make all the sites back up. But sadly that only lasted for 1 day only. The problem is back. I’m still suffered until now. No news from the official representative.

This is one of the comments TNN client posted in their Facebook fan page.

After I’ve removed some of the junk post and paid links on this blog I’ve noticed my blog has been indexed back by google. I’m back enjoying the organic traffic from google.

Most of them came to this blog is definitely interested to know more about latest broadband news especially regarding celcom broadband and p1 wimax. I’m avid reader of local broadband readers too. Worry not I’ll update anything as soon as I found something worth to share.

Also check out my new wordpress themes. Just launched it couple weeks ago. Noticed some fresh links incoming from unknown blog and yes they are using my theme :d

That’s the beauty of footer links :-)

I would like to thanks everyone who use it. Will release some new themes when I had time. :d

Blog transformation – My own wordpress theme

Well this is the 4th time I’ve changed my blog layout. But the header still the same. It is the exact header since I created this blog 3 years ago. Finally I’ve learn how to create my own wordpress theme after I’ve gone through all the curve for over a year. That’s quite long for learning a wordpress themes. It just that I didn’t have the time to commit all my learnings. Right now I’m in my semester break and I’ve managed to do it.

Upcoming plan is I’m gonna create some wordpress theme that will available for free download. Not this theme though. This is mine :-p

There’s also gonna be a spring cleaning to this blog. All the old article that seems inappropriate will be removed. Well that’s all for now.

iz.my – indiscriminate zip

It’s another url shortener on the block. What makes it different with tinyurl? You can create an account! From the member panel you can manage all your links and track the clicks. Highly recommended for affiliates marketer out there to mask your filthy affiliate links.

Maybe I’ll add a subdomain features later. Depending on any programmer that willing to mess with current users database. Anyone up for it? Please contact me.

What iz stand for? Actually it should be my initial, Izzat Zainol. But to suit it with url shortener site, I’ve came up with ingenious yet ridiculous name for it. It’s called indiscriminate zip. It doesn’t make sense right? :-p

Anyway take a look at it, and please spread the word using the social networking badge on the footer of the site. :-)

Motorcyclist and Penang Bridge, what do they have in common?

The answer is nails!! LOL

Its kinda sick to see people willing to cari makan by gave other people trouble. For those who didn’t know there is many unprofessional mechanic who throw nails on the Penang bridge in order to get some extra money. By all means extra money meaning that they will charge quite sum of money just to give their services to change a flat tyre.

Everytime I took a bridge to get to the island I’ve always see there is motorcyclist who had this problem. But lately the case has been ceased. The bridge has expand and I’ve seen some improvement. There is a road cleaning services provided by PBSB.

This is something that worth to share.
