100kbps is good? I can get much better on Wimax :p . Seldom lah...

Yep thanks for the heads up. I've once update the kernel and my boot loader messed up! That's rough.

I've tried installing virtualbox just for the sake trying to keep up with windows software. The lags and no usb support just made me kept away from it.

So there's no more dual boot option for me right now. At least not until I get a 64 bit machine to run the virtual box in fullscreen mode. That should be awesome.

but ubuntu update not necessarily significnt, somtimes it can make ur sytem worse too, leaving distributed setting, then utilise package manager just to get proprietary softwares n codecs, extra themes, fonts and softwares, then disable the update. It won't b any issue on ur system after that if u dont commit further updates though.

And u were wrong, I meant 100kbps download is suprisingly decent for cecom bb, sometimes Im able to update ubuntu as fast as 5 to 10 minutes.

And my internet is more rsponsive on ubuntu than on 7. I dual boot ubuntu and 7 on dell inspiron. I gotta use 7 bcause I have no skill on inkscape and thegimp, still gotta stick on Ps n Ai.

but yeah, microsoft still rulez here in Malaysia, so to live with the masses, we still need to have a windows.

Haha yeah your right. Don't ever dreaming to update through package manager when using celcom without leaving it overnite. I've been there :p.

Nah tweaking Vista was some time ago. That just me trying to play around with vlite. After Win7 out all my hardwork is for nothing :p

Currently enjoying a steady Win7 OS :D

suggestion, but I would prefer to use online repos through package mangger. Using f*cking celcom bb I can even get up to 100kbps on update from right server. why spend time tweaking vista? better use that time to try other distros on ur rig.

Hello makubex,

are you searching for offline repos dvd tutorial or you would like to suggest to me one?

Well I been thinking to do that too. But right now I'm too lazy to playing around with that after spending countless hour on vLite to mod my Vista installation.

I'll be much happier with a original ISO installation.
